It isn't the most luxurious hotel on the strip but who cares. People don't really sleep in Vegas anyway. I think that the rooms are actually better than the ones at the Circus Circus. Easy parking access and I do mean easy. If you know how to get around Vegas throught the back streets you can actually get into the hotel parking lot through the Harrah's parking entrance. In order to get to my car quicker I just jumped throught the window. I was on the first floor. They had great maid service, I called for an iron and board and it was there within five minutes. The casino itself is pretty busy all the time. It has a fun atmosphere and everyone there is really friendly. If you want to grab a quick bite you have several (Mc D's. Chipotle's, Panda Express, Subway, Pizza) locations to choose from. Denny's and the Outback is also on the property if you want a sit down meal. If you want a kick back club just walk though the Harrah's and into the Carnival Court. If you want to have everything close to your room the Casino Royale is the place to stay. I had a great time there. I will be going back in April. I expect things will be the same.

O'sheas has burger king,we went there as well.I was more concerned about food posioning and ahhhhhhh I got that.I ate chinesse food becaus emy daughter loves that,we order some across from orleanes, never again. She was not effected and neither was my son because he had something else but mommy was barffing an drunning to the potty at 4;30am,i was so sick,we skipped the pool, didn't wnat an accident lol,we stayed in all day,i did attempt to go out but with potty and barffing,i couldn't.Beware, don't eat chineese food in vegas unless it's at a hotel where they have to follow health code rules.

the monorail and things to do.

Click here for MGM Monorail Station virtual tour
The Las Vegas Monorail is one of the fastest, newest and most fun ways to navigate the Las Vegas Strip. Particularly if you don’t plan to have a car while in Vegas and want to spend a good amount of time on the Strip, the Monorail in Las Vegas is a great option.
Travelers can purchase one of a few different types of Monorail Las Vegas tickets, ranging from just one ride to an unlimited three day pass. Tickets are available online or in person at one of the seven centrally located stations along the Las Vegas Monorail. The monorail operates Monday - Thursday from 7 a.m. - 2 a.m. and Friday - Sunday 7 a.m. - 3 a.m.
Whether you are staying at a hotel on the Strip or simply plan to visit the Strip for a night or two, the Monorail in Las Vegas does offer a fairly inexpensive way to travel the Strip without having to worry about the hassles of driving or finding a taxi. The first Las Vegas Monorail station is located near the MGM Grand, near the Luxor. The Monorail Las Vegas then travels north along the strip with the New York New York off to the left, and the Aladdin to the right, stopping at Bally’s across from the Bellagio.
Next stop on the Monorail in Las Vegas is in front of the Flamingo. This is also the closest stop to Caesars and one of the most popular stops for anyone looking to do some shopping on the Strip. Moving further north, the Monorail Las Vegas makes its next stop at Harrah’s, across from the Mirage, the Fashion Show Mall and the Wynn Hotel and Casino. For anyone traveling to Las Vegas on a business trip, the next stop at the Las Vegas Convention Center is a popular place to stop. The final two stops take riders first to the Hilton and end at the Sahara near Circus Circus. The end of the Strip is also a good place to catch a bus over to the Fremont Street experience if you are in Vegas without a car or other transportation.
While the Las Vegas Monorail Nevada is a great option for anyone traveling to Vegas without a car or other transportation, it also provides excellent transportation for guests who plan to spend a night or two partying along the Strip. For a minimal fee, patrons can get from one end of the Strip to the other on the quick, air-conditioned Las Vegas Monorail Nevada. The Monorail in Las Vegas adds to both the convenience of travel along the Strip as well as safety. For a fast ride to all of the great shopping, dining and glamorous clubs on the Vegas Strip, the Las Vegas Monorail Nevada is a great option for travelers of every kind.
In addition to the monorail, there are two smaller trams operating near the Strip. Every four minutes, 24 hours a day, a tram travels between the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Excalibur. Further up the Strip, the Mirage - Treasure Island Tram runs every 15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. Although the trams run a bit slower than the monorail, they are a great choice to save weary legs the walk between the popular clubs.

I loved this however when you get off ,yes you walk to your destination,i took this from the MGM to Harrahs and it costs $5.00 one way,yes you can also buy all day passes or round trip tickets,it has AC and it's clean. The momorail stopped between Imperal palace and Harrahs, yes as I said"you walk from the station where the monorail is to the frount of the hotel,it's not as long a walk and it dose help to take a load off your achy bones. The people who work there are very nice and helpful, because i had a stroller i could walk through show my ticket and take an evevator up to the deck"i call it that",the stations are clean and well lit.Be prepared there are sometimes alot of people and what I like is this is great for the people who go out partying who can't drive, take the monorail,I highly recommend this.
As for free things to do,my next day,we took our shuttle again to barbary coast"bills" and walked over to ceasars side, we walk, well I walked he strolled and we went to the mirage,we saw the white tigers,it was nice and my son just wanted to hug them,we walked through the hotel to the very end and the tram was closed however we walked out and boom the fashion show mall was there,so we went over and we walked through.I bought my son some shorts at the gap and tops, look for sales, thats what I did,i got two for the price of one.we then went to have a drink, one note, no smoking in the mall,we sat out side had a soda and i had a smoke under a shaddy area with mist blowing and we saw wynns hotel,it's huge.We went back in and just windowed shopped,we enjoyed that and it was nice AC was on and it felt nice. Then we walked back and went to ceasars, man what a place,we watched the free show and went to FAO,my son loved that, toys,we got a t-shirt for him and went to get a drink,Some places are stroller convient and some places aren't and some people just like to "bitch" about people with small kids, which is what happened to me,yes it was stroller friendly however you gotta meet just one rude out of towner who thinks their beyond you,Just ignore them, theres no reason to fight. We had a drink and then went on our merry ways.We walked alot that day,my son actually fell asleep for awhile,it was nice,he napped I saw things.I didn't leave the strip to much except we did go to MGM to the candy store and I got some candy i enjoy,we saw the lions and he wasn't all excited, what he was excited about Elvis,we ran into an elvis impersinator who was cool at o'sheas,he was so nice he took a picture with my son,we saw several but the guy at o'sheas was way cooler and very friendly.
We then went to get lunch,he wanted fries,so back to harrahs and sat in the carnival and had fries and a drink but wait,I saw Toby Keiths"i love this bar" being built,we had a picture of the sign,my son was hoping to see toby,to be honest so was I.They sell TK things outside,t-shirts,hats,pens,etc,theres also little stores along the carnival that sell candy, wines etc,I enjoy this place, harrahs rocks and whats nice is there friendly, not snotty like i would of thought,I went back to the hotel to changed,I wanted crab legs and wanted them bad,it was my birthday,so we changed, went back to harrahs and had the buffett,my son loved the chicken fingers, mac and cheese and desert lol,Me shrimp and give me my crab legs,I liked the food don't get me wrong but my legs had a weird taste, maybe it was me because they may of steamed them in olbay seasoning, however overall it was very good and i would go back, they were friendly, stroller convient and have booster chairs for kids, they bring you your drinks, coffee, tea, soft drinks,i got my sons food, then went back for mine with him,i needed 8 hands lol.Afterwards,we walked some and went back to the hotel before it was to let.

so what to do once you get there?

So you get to Vegas, bags to carry, suitcases to get at the airport and duhhhh your lost. There is rental cars, taxis and my favorite because i feel safe, shuttles. They cost $6.50 or so to go from the sirport to a hotel and the people are kind to help you take your things out back, they are also kind to kids.
Once you get to the hotel and do that all important chech in,please, please don't complain it takes a few mins, theres lines, people are also checking in,use your patients and just enjoy looking around.
So you have a bellman help you to your room, tip him $2.00 because he is being helpful. Now sometime syour room isn't hwta you wnat,i believe people find problems with rooms before really finding a problem.Speaking nice to managers and employees gets you more then being nasty.I stayed at the Orleans, one of my favorite hotels,my flight got in at 9;30am,i got to the hotel around 10;am pr so,i checked in,they were gonna give me a non smoking room,i requested a smoking room, they were kind to change it to the room i wanted, upon cheking in and getting help, most hotels now have a security check point, room keys folks, you must have them available so they know your are a guest.Once in my room, yes i checking to make sure it was clean,it was, smelled good for a smoking room, saw the pool, the bathroom was roomy and clean, the halls clean,i had no complaints. The only problem I ahd was with a light that didn't work,if you call the desk and are nice they will send a person up to look at a problem,if your ude, forget it.
Granted all people go for the gambling,i don't gamble all that much and had my son with me,you must be 21 to gamble.I also did not stay in my room either.I unpacked, took a shuttle after we had something to eat and we went to the strip.
once on the strip, theres now elevated people walks, yeah no being run over by cars or buses, use them they are convient.I went to alot of places with my son,we hit harrahs,my favorite hotel where i am staying this time,we sat under teh shade of the carnival court, heard live music ,had soda and fries, this was our routine everyday because it was nice to take a break.
We then went to buy some t-shirts,o'sheas had shirts and i bought one,we then took the elevator at the corner of the old barbary coast which is now bills saloon and went across to ballys,i love ballys,it plays music and fun ,fun, fun.we walked into the hotel and looked at the shops, then it connected to Paris, the shops are nice but expensive, then to the aladdin which the mall there is now called mircle mile,it was awsome and they have build a bear and aveda for my hair.
We decided to go back to the other side and yes while your all probley wonder"were there pervs on the corner throwing paper of a call girl"?yes and i ignored them.We went to The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and looked at art and saw the gadilla along with strolling singers,it was lovely.
we then went to bellagio,oh my,how beautiful,we saw the flower garden and dancing water falls,if you never have gone,go.Then we took our shuttle back to teh orleans and relaxed, had dinner and went to sleep,Most hotels have shuttles to get around.

las vegas

Las Vegas, the disleyland for adults has changed over the years, from hotles like the Desert Inn and dunes to the sands being torn down and the old Aladdin, out with the old in with the new however some hotels still remain.
I live din LV for 6 years and travel there a few times a year to see family and being I like thrifty things,I have found there are things to do without blowing a wod of money in a casino or on the strip.
So sit back while,I take you on my journey.
